A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend a few days up at the Haigh glacier and Beckie Scott training centre to work on a film project with my good friend Russell Kennedy. We ran the 17 km's in and had our bags flown in via a helicopter. The jog up was a blast, I tried my best to not slow down the pace of my buddy Russell, who is without a doubt in much better shape than I am.
The glacier blended into the smokey sky on our first day due to the nearby wildfires.
The scenery surrounding the glacier is incredible.
One night we ran over to Maude lake, a few kilometers down from camp past Turbine Canyon. It was one of the most beautiful alpine lakes I have ever seen and I can't wait to get back there with my fly rod.
Just past Maude lake is the BC/Alberta border and the North Kananaskis Pass.
All in all, it was a few of the best days I've had so far this summer. We came away with some really good footage (will share soon), I got to meet some super down to earth and hilarious people, and see a part of the cross country community I never knew existed.
Life is good,
